Liposuction actually works as advertised. It is not for weight loss. It is for eliminating those bulges in areas that are “diet resistant”.
It is more of a “contouring” procedure – we do not try to measure the results in inches with a tape measure, nor in pounds with a scale. We “measure” the result with before and after photos, and how you look in the mirror.
I had liposuction 15 years ago and the fat has never come back. The trick is to maintain a stable weight afterward. If you gain weight afterward you will ruin your result.
The worst thing you can do is diet before your liposuction and then gain it back afterward. This is why I don’t recommend dieting prior to your liposuction. 90% of people who diet before gain some back.
If you want to lose weight, do it AFTER your liposuction – not before. Seeing the new and better contour afterward is also a great motivator to get in even better shape than you were before your liposuction!
