I’ve sat down and tried multiple times to write about my experience. Not only about Dr. Weston and his staff but about the entire process so that someone could read it and find it helpful in their decision making process. How can you express in words your complete gratitude?
Let me start by saying that as a mother of 4, all c-section babies, I dedicated my life to my children and I still do. But, after many years of being unhappy with my post-baby belly, I finally decided that I was going to do something for me…something to make ME happy.
I had been referred to Dr. Weston by my sister as well as multiple friends (including my pharmacist), and so I went in for a consultation for an abdominoplasty. I’m sure that I am not the only mother that has gone into the building dreading the fact that I was going to have to show people my stomach that I was so unhappy with.
Dr. Weston came in and made me feel completely comfortable. I was not embarrassed and he actually made me feel very hopeful and excited about what he envisioned for me. I went home and I gave it a little more thought but I didn’t really need to because I left there knowing that I had gone to the right surgeon.
So, my pre-op appointment went just as smoothly as they told me what to expect and handled all of my prescriptions. I felt more at ease but I knew that I was only 2 weeks out and I was very nervous about the actual procedure. I didn’t understand why because I have had multiple abdominal surgeries and I did fine. For some reason, this was different because it was something that I had wanted for so many years and it was about to happen.
The day of surgery was fantastic. The little cocktail of meds that I had to take 2 hours prior took away all of my nerves and I went in feeling pretty excited. There was really no time to be nervous anyways because they took me right back to an exam room.
From there, Dr. Weston came in and did his official doodles on my stomach, again making me feel very comfortable with my decision.
Then…right to the OR where the nurse and anesthesiologist were waiting for me. They numbed my arm (which I didn’t feel) and put the IV in and I went right to sleep. When I woke up, the nurse and anesthesiologist took excellent care of me. I now had the body that I had wanted for so long!
The follow up process after the surgery including the 24 hour post operative appointment as well as the ones that follow were great. Everything went perfect. I still have swelling because it takes time to heal but I am VERY happy with my result.
So, my initial question was how can I express in words my gratitude and the answer is that I can’t, There is no way to put into words how happy I am with my decision, Dr. Weston and ALL of his staff. I look great, I feel great and the staff at the AW Center take a lot of pride in their work, which is an art that they take very seriously.
Thank you Dr. Weston, Wilma and all of the other staff members who I had the pleasure of dealing with along the way. This was in many ways, life changing for me and I hope that I was able to explain to your future patients how eternally grateful I am.
